Temple 125

Leo Emanuel Stone Weiss

"I am currently six weeks old, and 21 and 3/4 inches tall. Although I cannot read, write, jump or shoot a basketball, I am told that nearly every member of my family has attended Temple University, including my father, uncles and grandparents. Without getting ahead of myself, consider me a Temple Owls fan and - if I grow beyond my current height and score reasonably well on my SATs - a freshman basketball prospect for the entering class of 2027. ..."

"The story, "Love at First Site; Smitten in Mitten (Temple Review, Spring '09), struck a chord with me, but not for myself. My parents met at Temple Univ. when my Mom borrowed a pencil from my Dad (Bernard BS '41) in "Doc" Fergeson's English class in the Fall of 1939 (met in 1939; married in 1943). "I am proud to say that, 27 years after I attended, I now have a daughter in her third year at Temple University. My daughter commutes to Temple every day and splits her classes between Main and Ambler Campus. We enjoy talking about the changes that have ocurred at Temple and how Temple continues to evolve. "I'm not enrolled at Temple, but I've had a great time visiting my best friend Katie Kopania there. She's made my time so great, I love her! She makes me hope that I get accepted for Fall '09 because she has so much fun and meets so many cute boys! She loves her classes and her professors, she says the help her learn a lot more than she ever did in high school. I really want to go to Temple after visiting her so many times. if you're thinking about it, you should apply! You will not regret it. ..."

"As a parent and a staff member, the best part of having my two daughters attend Temple has to be the impromptu lunches. We grab crepes to share, and then I hear all about their learning in progress - essay arguments, research topics, art projects, community service initiatives and even some gossip. I am grateful that they chose the real-world campus of Temple to pursue their educations. ..."
