1911:

The first state appropriation to Temple University was granted when the Pennsylvania legislature allocated $10,000 to the university.

1918:

The Fox School of Business was established as the School of Commerce. The school was renamed in 1999 in honor of longtime Board of Trustees member Richard J. Fox.

W. Edward Chamberlain, chair of the Department of Radiology, designed the first image amplifier used in fluoroscopy.

1919:

The College of Education was established as Teachers College.
